Glastonbury Festival 2013 tickets sell out in record time

Tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2013 have sold out in record time.

It took fans just 1hr and 40mins to snatch all the tickets that went on sale at 9am this morning.

“After one hour and 40 minutes, tickets for Glastonbury 2013 have now completely sold out (in record time),” the official website published.

“We would like to say an enormous thanks to everyone who managed to buy a ticket – but we’d also like to extend our sincere apologies to the many thousands who missed out.”

Those that tried and missed out were furious with the service offered by Seetickets. One reader on our Facebook page said, “I can’t even get the page to load. Complete farce!”

Another commented, “Keep getting booking page, add all details then opps broken arrrrghhhhhh see tickets what you doing…”

If you missed out on tickets this morning its not over yet! There will most likely be a re-sale in spring, however there will be very limited tickets available.

Seetickets were their normal shocking service. Had they not messed up their DNS service to only point to 1 server instead of 2 maybe it would have sold out in 45 mins. Fact is too many people want too few tickets :) but I’ve got mine

Tis true that its pretty much impossible to deal with that many transactions at the same time but I still think they could do more to make a better service. Glad to hear you got a ticket :)

  2. Katrina Lewis says:

got on the ticket page 5 times and it crashed every time…….gutted!

  3. Dean says:

Was gonna be my 6th year in a row! People like me should have priority. A lot of newbies there this year that are only going cos people like me rave about how good it is! most have never been because its not for them and it still wont be for them come summer! 100% going to be a fair few thousand wasted tickets when these bandwagon hoppers realise exactly why they haven’t been before and go home a few days early! Maybe im just bitter knowing what I’m gonna miss and what people won’t appreciate

i just think its like a willy wonka ticket, you are just very very lucky or you aint, and there is always next yr, as for all those people going because of old timers saying to them its so great, hmmm, i’d rather think its the history of the great line-ups Micheal eavis’s vision and the festivals overall general apeal, also the growth we have all seen in summer festivals getting bigger and bigger each yr.

    • My second time dean and I agree with wot you say …I will be 55 and the wife 51 and our 20 year old daughter will be with us We will be there for the duration music is timeless and we talk to people of all ages it’s so good not to hear loads of foreign voices in mass hope the line up is good

  5. Kate says:

Tried for years and years now got then 5 in a row….if you go wooohoooo….and if not, enjoy the better view, warmer and mud free TV viewing. Win win either way!

  6. Adam sampson says:

I got through on two occasions. Probably luck but I notice a lot of people saying they put in details and it crashed. That happened to me both times but instead of going back or starting again I just kept refreshing resending data and got through to the next page in the end. doesn’t help those without but maybe will for the resale
