Off-site camping confirmed for Glastonbury Festival 2013

Organisers of Glastonbury Festival 2013 have confirmed that off-site camping will be available to revelers.

Posting on the official website they said, “we are pleased to announce that the Festival will, for the first time, be offering a range of pre-erected off-site camping facilities for at least 4,000 people for the 2013 Festival, in addition to our onsite tipi area.”

Pre-erected scout style tents will be available for £250 for the 5 nights of the festival. There are also other more expensive options on offer as well.

  • I would love to go to this festival one day. I don’t see a problem with offsite camping personally

Thanks for leaving a comment! Its a great festival, definitely make sure you try it at least once!

It’s good to have other camping options. I went in 1995 and luckily camped with some festival veterans. They had erected a 3bed tent condo by the time I arrived.

  • If it’s anywhere near the campervan field, expect to do some walking!

I think it’s a good idea. Myself and 4 other friends are coming from Australia and we have 2 days in London before the festival so this camping option has taken a bit more stress off our shoulders! Can’t wait

  • Good idea and if it takes the pressure from inside the site it’s got to be a good thing leaving a little extra space as well ..also it stops entrepreneurs making a fast buck at least the money goes to a good cause

  • i stayed in the campervan field in 2011 and yes it is a long hike up a great hill. Dont recomend it if you are in anyway disabled or relativly unfit. You cant really pop back for anything as its a 2 hour round trip with the queing at the gate too! great festival thou!

Having worked at festivals and revelled at them for thirty years-off site is great. Showers and a bolt hole is great and not having to lug all u stuff miles is wonderful. You need to be pretty organised cos of the track back to ur tent but days of face down in a ditch are behind me.v good for people with disabilities and little one also. I do miss the three string guitar teens singing wonder wall outside my tent at 5 am
